Buy your ship anchors straight from Bilbao when your ship is visiting Spain for servicing or repair. In that way you prevent problems such as international transport delays or other inconveniences that cost you time and resources. This can be avoided.
Our High Holding Power Anchors are sourced straight to the main ports in Spain, such as Bilbao, Ferrol, Fene and Gijon in the North; Barcelona and Tarragona on Catalonia; Castellon and Valencia in the East; and Huelva, Sevilla and Algeciras in the South. Usually these are the most common destinations for our anchors.
High Holding Power Anchors have the same Tariff Number as Stockless Anchors, for they are both made of steel and serve a similar purpose. Nevertheless, while they are a part of the anchor chain, each component has a separate HS Code and is affected differently by any potential tariffs. Instead of risking making faulty documentation why don't you instead ask Bilbao?
Every HHP anchor that we produce is required to grant at least the same holding power as a conventional stockless anchor of 25% less weight.
High Holding Power anchors are smaller and lighter than conventional ship anchors, they are the most efficient and cost-effective option.
In order for an HHP anchor to comply with industry standards it needs to obtain the guaranteed holding power results in 3 different types of marine soils: very soft clay, medium clay, sand and hard clay. The anchors need to be tested with 3 different weights as well.
High Holding Power anchors from Bilbao are crafted with high quality steel meant for ensuring a high durability. Our preferred material is GS200 (1.0449) cast steel for it's extremely high quality. You can learn more about the technical details of this steel on the technical drawings.
Our HHP anchors have been certified with ABS, LR, BV, DNV and several other certificates. Every High Holding Power anchor that we produce is a good of the highest quality available. We can also supply modified anchors with certification if necessary.
While most HHP anchors are used in regular ships, some types, such as the N HHP anchor, are mostly used in yachts or super yachts. Therefore, we can provide any finishing touch to the anchors on request, such as white paint, hot dip galvanized steel, stainless steel, or other specifications.
While most HHP anchors use a crown shackle, in special situations it is recommended to use a swivel end. Here at Bilbao Anclas y Cadenas we can supply both the traditional anchor with a crown shackle end, as well as the one with a swivel.
