ABOUT THE SPEK M ANCHOR
The Spek M Anchor, also referred to as Spek type M, is one of the most widely used stockless anchors for ships in the maritime industry worldwide.
It's design is mainly the same as the regular Spek anchor, except that it was a shorter fluke that ensures proper fitting inside the boat's hull.
The popularity of this anchor has increased over the time due to the design improvements on hulls and the placement of anchor pockets.

The Spek M anchor is typically balanced, and it is commonly used by commercial ships, such as cargo ships, fishing boats, and operations vessels.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Similarly to the Spek Anchor, the Spek M is manufactured with GS200 cast steel in order to enhance the production process, making it more efficient due to the high ductility of the metal, and produce a high quality result. These are the anchor's mechanical properties:

As a Maker, the Spek M Anchor from Bilbao is manufactured to satisfy client requirements, such as tailored length, or whether they have an LR, BV or DNV certificate. The same principle is applied on the finishing.
The client can request any finishing for their new Spek Anchor, such as HDG Hot Dip Galvanized, or Black Paint, depending on the ship specifications.
The Spek M anchor comes in similar sizes as the regular Spek, but with the main difference of being produced up to 20000 kgs rather than 29000.
